Dogs and Perch

On Wed we drove from the wonderful community of Talkeetna (correct Spelling) to Denali National Park.  It took about two hours.  Flat country then in to the mountains for the last thirty miles.  But not high mountains, they are just and I mean just west of us.
At the park we went to the visitor Center, good for ten minutes, maybe fifteen.  Then to the food service, where we gave up after ten minutes in line and moving ten feet.  Then to the book store.  Yes more books, but only three.
Then we went to the Sled Dog Kennels for a show.  We got to pet some of the dogs, almost see some puppies, they were in a dog house with mommy.  Then watch a show with dogs and sled.  They use the dog sleds to patrol the park in winter.  The picture of the day is one of the dogs and Mary.
Then off to the Wilderness Access Center where we got tickets for the Wilderness Tour at 6:50 am on Thursday.  Yes, you read right.  Mary was willing.
Then we went to the Perch Resort and Cabins to check into our cabin.  It has a good double bed and two single beds, one of which is the sitting in the cabin, and its own small bathroom.  But the Restaurant is wonderful.  Since we had breakfast and lunch on our own, we decided to go there for dinner.  Second best of the trip.  Sits up on a hill, okay view, but great food and friendly service.  Breakfast is there at 6 am.  Comes with the cabin.
So now get ready for the day, 7-8 hours on a bus, full of tourist.  Hope it is as good as Mary thinks it will be.  It is the only way to see the park, as private cars are not allowed to drive past the entrance area where the visitor stuff is.  Will let you know tonight.
