Lake Louise, Alberta

We have spent the night in Lake Louise, AB. This is one of the places that was a must on this trip. Mary's Mother had been here, as well as many of our friends. It is beautiful. There is no lake now, well I did not see a lake, just a large frozen flat spot, but it was beautiful. We then had drinks in the lounge of the Lodge, (where we could have stayed, they had rooms, for only $400 per night.) So $25 worth of drinks, one each, and we went back to our other lodge. Yesterday was spent looking at the beauty of the area. Today will be more of the same as we travel all the way to Jasper, 223 km. It will take about 7 hours, four of which will be spent stopped seeing this beautiful area. Then we will head west toward the Pacific and our date with the Ferry.

Yesterday at the top of the mountain, after the Gondola ride it was 0 degrees, right at freezing. The view was amazing. All of Banff Valley and the entire area around as you get a 360 degree view. Our heavy winter coats paid for their space in our car.

The Picture is of Mary at Lake Louise.

The picture looks absolutly breath taking guys. I'm glad you made it so far in such a short time. It doesn't make me feel bad that way, because you left a day later.

Your descriptions of Banff and Lake Louise bring back fond memories from a year ago. I specially remember the gondola ride. Did you walk all the way over to the lookout once you made it to the top?
